N: 1. Albendazole is a type of medication also called a broad spectrum vermifuge oranthelmintic. This means it can treat many types of infections with worms, such as pinworms, flatworms, some roundworms, and hookworms. Developed in the early 1970s by Glaxo SmithKline, the drug is prescribed for both people and animals.
2. Albendazole is used to treat infections caused by worms. Albendazole works by keeping the worm from absorbing sugar (glucose), so that the worm loses energy and dies.
