N: 1. – Brugada (pn): Pedro Brugada is a Spanish cardiologist who worked in Belgium.
– syndrome (n): “A number of symptoms occurring together,” 1540s, from medical Latin, from Greek syndrome “concurrence of symptoms, concourse of people,” from syndromos “place where several roads meet,” literally “a running together,” from syn– “with” + dromos “a running, course”. Psychological sense is from 1955.

2. Brugada (brew-GAH-dah) syndrome is a potentially life-threatening heart rhythm disorder that is sometimes inherited. People with Brugada syndrome have an increased risk of abnormal heart rhythms from the lower chambers of the heart (ventricular arrhythmias).

  • Fainting (syncope).
  • Irregular heartbeats or palpitations.
  • Extremely fast and chaotic heartbeat (sudden cardiac arrest).
